Mission Statement
We exist to empower the vulnerable women and children of Bucerias, Mexico to live in physical, emotional and spiritual safety and harmony, having access to needed shelter, food, education, community support, skill training, business development and spiritual transformation.
Vision Statement
We long to live in a community where all women, children and families live with hope, security, independence, and the deep love of God.
Core Values and Philosophies
We believe that:
- The greatest command of all is to Love God and Love People.
- All people are created by God to live with purpose, passion, love, and hope.
- People are meant to live in families and community – caring for one another as we are able and sharing what we have with those who have less.
- Caring for widows and orphans, single moms and their children, is the most important work of all.
- Education can change the world.
- People have an innate desire to provide for their own families – sometimes they need a hand to get there.
- People must walk their own journey – we suspend judgement and offer grace.
- Encountering God’s love is the truest path to hope.
- Integrity, transparency, and accountability will serve as the foundation of Refuge of Hope.
Services we Offer
To see our mission and vision come to life, we will provide:
- Food and daily care for children up to the age of 18
- Educational assistance including access to public and/or private school and after school tutoring and support
- Training in trades and skills for children, youth, and adults
- Spiritual development and guidance
- Psychological counselling and support for children and single moms
- Resources and assistance in business development and start-up
