Women of Hope

We know that the best way to help our kids is to help their moms! Not only do we want to provide quality daily care so single moms can work, we also dream of helping our moms create their own independence through skill training and business development.

Recently we have created Women of Hope and we are making plans to build a center – possibly right next door on the lot we recently purchased – where moms can gather to create community and learn new skills.

As our first project, Jana Erickson and Jennifer Smith have been teaching our moms to sew shawls which we sell at the local Art Walk. Mom earns a salary for each shawl she creates AND she receives a portion of the profit when they sell.

We have lots more business ideas! Baking. Jewellery. Cooking lessons. Greeting cards. Coffee Shop.

We are also concerned with the emotional and spiritual needs of our moms and we have a psychologist who does 1 on 1 counselling as well as weekly group sessions. We have a staff member who does home visits each week, teaching many life skills such as budgeting, nutrition and hygiene. We have come alongside and given assistance for addiction and domestic violence issues. We have created a true family and we are so excited to watch our Women find Hope for the future of their families!

We ask for your continued support as we begin preliminary plans for our Women of Hope Center.
